Mindy Reflection #19

If we are driving in a car together and get lost, and you ask me what direction we should take? I will always say make a left. I have no sense of direction, so I pick left because it seems like a more interesting choice. The truth is, I am confident we will eventually reach our destination. It may take a little longer, but we will get there. I am amazed at my level of confidence and faith when we are talking about a car ride. I never worry, because you’re the driver. In the past, I agonized over the decisions I’d made. I thought if only I had taken a left instead of a right, things would have turned out differently. The illusion is that somehow I was powerful enough to screw up my destiny. What I’ve learned is that it was always going to unfold as it was meant to. My participation is more of a courtesy granted to keep me busy, than a barrier. Do you think the creators of the divine plan would allow me to take a wrong turn? I trust the driver of my life, as much as I trust the driver in the car seat beside me. It may take me a little longer to get there, but there is no doubt I will arrive exactly where I’m supposed to be. If I worried less, I’d have nothing to do. Today I will relax and enjoy the ride.
